David Moss (born December 28, 1981 in Livonia , Michigan ) is a former American ice hockey player who played 518 games for the Calgary Flames and Phoenix or Arizona Coyotes in the National Hockey League between 2000 and 2016 has contested on the position of the right winger . Moss celebrated his greatest career success in the jersey of the national team of the United States by winning the bronze medal at the 2013 World Cup . Moss' cousin Phil Kessel is also a professional ice hockey player.
Career
The 1.91 m tall winger began his career in various US junior leagues and then moved to the University of Michigan in the Central Collegiate Hockey Association , a league in the game operations of the National Collegiate Athletic Association . In the 2001 NHL Entry Draft , the right-handed shooter was finally selected ( drafted ) as 220th in the seventh round by the Flames .
Of the Calgary Flames Moss was initially the farm team Omaha Ak-Sar-Ben Knights in the American Hockey League used since December 2006. However, the attacker belongs to the root cadre of franchises in Alberta . In each of his first three NHL games, Moss scored one goal.
On July 1, 2012, Moss signed a two-year contract with the Phoenix Coyotes as a free agent . This was extended by one year after expiry; however, he received no new contract after the 2014/15 season. Henceforth, Moss was looking for a new employer, he only in December 2015, EHC Biel from the National League A found. In Biel, the Canadian signed a contract until the end of the current season. In October 2016, he announced the end of his playing career.
International
Moss took part in the 2010 World Cup with the US national team. The attacker scored one goal and two assists in six World Cup games . At the 2013 World Cup in Stockholm and Helsinki , Moss was again a member of the US national team and won the bronze medal with it.
