Dawn Burrell
Dawn Burrell (born November 1, 1973 in Philadelphia ) is a former American long jumper .
Her greatest success was winning the gold medal at the World Indoor Athletics Championships in 2001 with 7.03 m. At the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney , she reached 11th place. It was her only participation in the Olympics. The year before, she was sixth at the World Championships in Seville.
Burrell jumped her personal best in 2011 at the World Indoor Championships, her best outdoor performance of 6.98 m she achieved in 2000. At a height of 1.75 m, her competition weight was 58 kg. Dawn Burrell's brother Leroy Burrell was a successful sprinter who set a world record in the 100-meter run in 1991 and won the gold medal in the USA's 4-by-100-meter relay at the 1992 Olympics .
