Delio Rodríguez Barros (born April 19, 1916 in Ponteareas , † January 14, 1994 in Vigo ) was a Spanish cyclist .

Delio Rodríguez came from a very enthusiastic Galician family. His younger brother Emilio was almost as successful. While his brother was particularly fond of the mountains, Delio was an excellent sprinter, but he also had the standing qualities to win numerous smaller tours and, as the culmination of his career in 1945, the Vuelta . Several other places in the top ten in the overall standings round off his Vuelta record. In total, he won 39 stages in the Vuelta. He holds the record to this day. The number of his stage victories would have been much higher if the Vuelta had not been canceled in 1943 and 1944 because of the Second World War . With a gap of more than 30 minutes to second-placed Julián Berrendero , Delio Rodríguez set another record that is still valid today in his Vuelta victory in 1945. However, this enormous lead is only due to a successful breakaway attempt on the 2nd stage. His long career lasted from 1934 to 1950 and rarely took him beyond the borders of his home country.
