Bernardo Ruiz Navarrete (born January 8, 1925 in Orihuela ) is a former Spanish cyclist .

As a good mountain rider, Ruiz worked his way up on regional tours in Spain until he made his big breakthrough in 1948 with his victory at the Vuelta . He also won the mountain classification and three stages. In 1950 he won another Vuelta stage. After that a very successful international career began. In 1951, when he took part in the Tour de France for the first time, he immediately achieved two stage victories, 9th place in the overall ranking and 3rd place in the mountain classification. In the same year he also won a stage at the Tour de Romandie . In 1952 he achieved his best placement on the Tour with 3rd place overall. Also at the Giro d'Italiahe participated repeatedly, but did not get beyond a 28th place. However, he also won a stage at the Giro d'Italia in 1955. In total, Ruiz took part in the Tour and the Vuelta eight times and the Giro d'Italia six times. From 1955 to 1957 he completed all three major tours all the way to the destination. In 1957 he achieved another top result with 3rd place at the Vuelta. His career lasted from 1944 to 1958. After that, he was involved in cycling for some time as team boss. Among other things, Angelino Soler won the Vuelta in 1961 under his direction. He later returned to his hometown, where he ran a motor and bicycle shop for a long time.
