Gorka Izagirre Insausti , also Gorka Izaguirre , (born October 7, 1987 in Ormaiztegi ) is a Spanish cyclist . He is the older brother of cyclist Ion Izagirre .

Athletic career

Gorka Izagirre began his cycling career as a cross-country rider ; so he was 2003 Spanish youth champion in this discipline.

For the 2010 season Izagirre received a contract with the UCI ProTeam Euskaltel-Euskadi . At the Tour of Luxembourg he achieved his first international victory when he won the final stage, then he won the Prueba Villafranca de Ordizia . In 2012 and 2014 he won the Prueba again.

2014 won the Movistar team with Izagirre the team time trial of the Vuelta a España . In 2017 he decided on the Klasika Primavera and celebrated his greatest success to date when he won the eighth stage of the Giro d'Italia .
