Gustaaf Deloor

Gustaaf Deloor (born June 24, 1913 in De Klinge ; † January 28, 2002 in Mechelen ) was a Belgian cyclist .

Career

Gustaaf Deloor's professional career lasted from 1932 to 1939. He won the overall ranking of the first two rounds of Spain in 1935 and 1936 . After that, the Spanish Civil War prevented further participation in the Vuelta, and the beginning of the Second World War from 1939 to 1945 ended his sporting career. His older brother Alfons Deloor was also a professional cyclist.

Most important successes

  • 1935 winner of the Tour of Spain including three stage wins (3rd, 11th and 14th stage)
  • 1936 winner of the Tour of Spain including three stage wins (2nd, 4th and 6th stage)
  • 1937 winner of the 6th stage of the Tour de France
