Demarai Ramelle Gray (born June 28, 1996 in Birmingham ) is an English - Jamaican football player . The left winger is under contract with Leicester City .

Career

Gray began his career at Cadbury Athletic and joined the Birmingham City Youth at the age of ten . There he moved up to the first team for the 2013/14 season and made his debut on October 1, 2013 in a 4-0 home win against Millwall FC in the Football League Championship . He scored his first goal on April 21, 2014 to make it 2-4 in the home game against Blackburn Rovers . In the 2014/15 season , Gray became a regular player and played 41 games in which he scored six goals.

In early January 2016, Gray moved to Leicester City in the Premier League . He signed a contract that ran until June 30, 2020. On January 16, 2016, he made his debut in a 1-1 draw against Aston Villa in the Premier League. By the end of the season he was used twelve times and won the championship with the club .

National team

Gray first appeared on February 18, 2014 in the 4-0 home win against Italy for the U18 team of the English Football Association . For the U19 national team , he played four games and scored one goal. From May 2015 Gray played for the U20 selection . On March 26, 2016, he made his debut in a 1-1 draw against Switzerland in the U21 national team . In June 2017 he took part with the team at the U21 European Championship 2017 in Poland and reached the semi-finals with them.
