James Michael Justin (born February 23, 1998 in Luton ) is an English football player . The defender , who can also be used in midfield at different positions, but primarily acts as a right-back, was at Luton Town trained and hired for the season 2019/20 at Leicester City in the Premier League on.

Career

Luton Town

Justin joined his home club Luton Town's youth academy in 2005 and signed his first professional contract in November 2015. After playing mainly in the U-18 team of the club in the 2015/16 season and celebrating some notable successes - including making it to the quarter-finals of the FA Youth Cup - he beat Exeter City on the last match day (4: 1) for a first short assignment in the fourth English division. In the 2016/17 season Justin made his sporting breakthrough at Luton Town, where he was in the starting line-up for the first time in a 3-1 home win in the League Cup against first division relegated Aston Villa . In his initial fourteen appearances, Justin held various positions including right-back and left winger. He then signed a contract with a term until summer 2019 plus the option for an additional year. At the end of April 2017, Justin scored his first professional goal in the 4-1 away win against Accrington Stanley and coach Nathan Jones also called him into the starting line-up in the two games in the play-off semi-final against Blackpool FC , which was ultimately lost . The successful year aroused desires at other clubs, but Luton turned down a specific offer from the second division Nottingham Forest in the amount of one million pounds; Instead, Justin extended the contract to 2020 plus a new option for another year. When Luton achieved promotion to the third division after the end of the 2017/18 season , Luton drew this option. While he still made a relatively moderate contribution to the team's success with 22 competitive games in this season, Justin was a key player on the right side of defense with 52 appearances in the 2018/19 season on the way to winning the third division championship and thus the direct march through to the second highest division. In recognition of his performance, he was named to the "Team of the Year" of EFL League One.

Leicester City

At the end of June 2019, the first division club Leicester City signed him for a five-year contract for an unspecified transfer fee. He scored his first goal for the new club on his league cup debut against the former club from Luton and won 4-0. In December 2019, coach Brendan Rodgers used him for the first time in the Premier League . After two substitutions ten minutes before the end of regular time against FC Watford (2-0) and Aston Villa (4-1), the first Premier League starting eleven followed on December 28, 2019 in a 2-1 win against West Ham United .

National team

At the beginning of June 2017 Justin was appointed to a training camp for the English U-19 team for the first time. The jump into the squad for the upcoming European Championship was denied him. It was only with the U-20s that he made two first appearances in friendly matches the following August: first as a substitute against the Netherlands and four days later in the starting line-up against Switzerland. For the U-21 team , he made his debut on September 9, 2019 from the 80th minute for the injured Max Aarons - the game against Kosovo ended 2-0 for England.
