The Theodor im Fußballtor is a German-Austrian love affair from 1950 with Theo Lingen , Josef Meinrad and Hans Moser in the leading roles. Directed by EW Emo .
action
Theo Lubitz, owner of a travel agency and an enthusiastic center forward in his spare time, and Theo Haslinger, goalkeeper of the local football club, are close friends through their sport. While Lubitz is in love with his pretty secretary Carola and is planning to propose to her soon, Haslinger-Theo, whose father is also called Theo and is also the club's chairman, has the same idea. As if this situation weren't already tricky enough, a rumor is also circulating, namely that Haslinger junior is also having an affair with the mature Charlotte - and she is, of all people, the friend of the opposing club president Knospe! That is too much for the old Haslinger, and he promptly throws his own Theo junior from the squad and appoints center forward Theo Lubitz as the new goalkeeper. Now there is a thick air between father and son. To avoid a falling out between the two befriended Theos, the two get together, clarify their women's stories, until it finally comes to the engagement and a great victory on the pitch, where everything belongs in the square.
Production notes
Theodor in the soccer goal was created in the spring of 1950 in the Bavaria studio in Geiselgasteig with exterior shots from the Grünwald stadium . The film premiered on August 29, 1950 in Hanover. The strip started in Vienna on October 13, 1950. The film was a cinematic reaction to the hit of the same name , which became a hit in 1948. In the version shown here, Theo Lingen sings the song.
The film structures were designed by Fritz Jüptner-Jonstorff , the costumes by film debutante Ilse Dubois . Hans Lehmann was in charge of production.
The same quartet (director Emo and his three protagonists Lingen, Moser, Meinrad) had filmed another comedy almost at the same time with Jetzt geht's 13 .
Reviews
"... shallow film farce with moderately comical situations and entanglements ..."
Paimann's film lists summed up: "... a remarkable laughing success."
"... the no less excellent actor Theo Lingen, who only makes slapstick, such as in 'Der Theodor im Fußballtor' ..."
