Dera Ismail Khan District is an administrative district in Pakistan in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province . The seat of the district administration is the city of the same name Dera Ismail Khan .

The district has an area of ​​9334 km² and according to the 2017 census 1,627,132 inhabitants. The population density is 174 inhabitants / km².

The district is located in the south of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province, which is in the north of Pakistan and borders the Punjab Province .

Demographics

Between 1998 and 2017 the population grew by 3.45% annually.
