German reservist championship
A German Reservist Championship (DRM) is held as a team competition at recurring intervals (usually every two years) as the highlight of all national reservist competitions for nationwide performance comparison in the areas of obstacle course , shooting, orientation , fitness and telecommunications . Teams can be provided by all military organizational areas of the Bundeswehr and by the reservist association and the associations and associations represented on the reservist work advisory board of the reservist association.
development
The comparative competitions began in 1967 and then officially in 1970 for the first time as the Federal Reserve of Reservists (BWK). Originally held as a military pentathlon , the competition was expanded in 1972 to include a "military patrol", an approximately 20 km long march on foot with military inserts, which was replaced in 1988 by a military eventing competition. At the same time, an individual competition for the command levels platoon commander , company commander and battalion commander was introduced to meet the increased demand for military leadership performance. In 2001 the team competition was supplemented by a security policy task to be solved .
Due to the directive of 2003 to adapt military support to the current tasks of the Bundeswehr , there were further changes. While maintaining the now classic components of the competition, the march on foot was adapted to the former "military patrol" and tasks from the so-called new fields of action "international conflict prevention and crisis management" and " assistance by the Bundeswehr" had to be solved. Only organizational orders and instructions related to the competition in 2005, which was still under the previous name; but in 2007 it was held for the first time under the current name of the German Reservist Championship .
As the highlight of the national reservist competitions, the performance of the reservists in the field of joint armed forces (= general military capabilities and skills as well as homeland security ) is to be emphasized. The aim of the competition is to maintain, deepen and expand individual basic skills and physical performance as well as military knowledge and skills to identify the best team. The content of the DRM is based on the given tasks, which the participating competition teams should also physically challenge.
Participation in the competition is reservists of all ranks open. The competition participants are to be called upon to participate in an exercise according to the Soldiers Act . The competition teams consist of a team captain, at least a sergeant / bosun , a deputy team captain and other competitors. Details are regulated by the special instructions for the DRM currently to be carried out and the competition regulations for the respective DRM.
Elimination competitions can be held to select the participating teams.
