Disco festival
The Disco Festival was Hesse's biggest indoor Electro - and House - event , which on an annual basis from 12 February 2005 until 14 April 2012 in the exhibition halls in Kassel has taken place.
General
From 2005 the disco festival took place every year in mid-April in the exhibition halls in Kassel. In recent years, the music event has established itself as one of the largest indoor house festivals in Germany . The event organizer was the advertising and event agency eve & com . The Disco Festival realized this for the first time in February 2005 and since then has recorded an annual increase in visitor numbers.
National and international DJs from the house and electro scene were represented there. House music was characteristic of the festival, but electronic music and live acts were also offered.
history
On February 12, 2005 the disco festival was realized for the first time. In the year it was founded, the event attracted 5,000 guests. In addition to the Disco Boys , who also celebrated their tenth anniversary this year , Superfunk , Tobi Neumann , Ziel 100 and Barbara Tucker also performed on three floors .
Due to the success, the event also established itself in the following year. On April 1, 2006, 8,000 guests welcomed numerous DJs. Including DJ Maxim & Bass-T , the Boogie Pimps , Moguai , Alter Ego , Ziel 100 and the Disco Boys.
On April 28, 2007, over 10,000 people visited the festival for the first time. DJs on site were u. a. Phil Fuldner , Lexy & K-Paul , Tara McDonald and the Disco Boys on the main floor, and Louis Osbourne, Giulia Siegel , Collien Fernandes and MTV - Moderator Markus Kavka further on three floors.
The disco festival achieved its greatest success to date on April 19, 2008 with over 11,000 guests. This year the Disco Boys, Markus Kavka, Maxim, Westbam , Ziel 100, Tiefschwarz and Lexy from Lexy & K-Paul played. The MTV presenters Anastasia and Patrice were also there. Furthermore, live performances and a. offered by Northern Lite , Ultra Naté and Cosmo Klein .
For the fifth year of existence on April 18, 2009, the festival was expanded by a floor. The Floor 5 was of Moonbootica inaugurated and other artists. Other acts were Anthony Rother , the Disco Boys, Ziel 100, Mike Väth , Finger & Kadel , Syke 'n' Sugarstarr, Plastik Funk, Lexy & K-Paul , DJ Gunjah and DJ Pierre.
In 2010, Floor 5, which had been added the year before, was renamed the Mash Floor . Again over 10,000 electro fans from Westbam , Lexy , Ziel 100, the Boogie Pimps , Oliver Koletzki , Boris Dlugosch , Alexander Kowalski , Marco Remus and the Disco Boys were received. Atzen ( Frauenarzt & Manny Marc ), Leschet & Wilde and Guaia Guaia were represented live .
The penultimate disco festival took place on Saturday, April 16, 2011 with Laserkraft 3D , Lexy & K-Paul , Moonbootica , Markus Kavka, DJ Hell , Cari Lekebusch , The Third Room and other DJs.
The last edition of the disco festival took place on April 14, 2012. A new edition initially planned for 2013 was canceled due to organizational and financial problems.
Location
The disco festival took place annually in the Kassel exhibition halls . There were five areas in total. Mainly house music was played on the largest floor, the “main floor” . The second large dance floor was the " Electro Floor". A chill-out zone with sand, deck chairs and large lawns was provided for the quiet minutes between the dance breaks . Also worth mentioning is the “ VIP area”, which was located on the second level of the hall and, with a terrace, also gave a glimpse of the “main floor”. In 2008, an outdoor area was added for the first time, offering drinks as well as snacks.
Radio broadcast
From 2005 to 2010 the radio station You FM broadcast live from the main floor. From 2011 the radio station planet more music radio broadcast live.
