The beluran District is an administrative district in the Malaysian state of Sabah . The administrative seat is the city of Beluran . Beluran District is part of the Sandakan Division area to which Beluran, Kinabatangan , Sandakan, and Tongod districts belong.
The Beluran District was previously known as the Labuk-Sugut District .
Demographics
The population of the district is 104,484 people according to the last census. The population consists of a mixture of different ethnic groups, including the Tidong , Kadazan, Dusun and Orang Sungai. As in many other cities in Sabah, there are significant numbers of illegal immigrants from the nearby Philippines , especially from Sulu and Mindanao , who are not recorded in the population statistics.

The main rivers in Beluran District are Sungai Labuk , Sungai Sapi, Sungai Tongod, Sungai Sugut , Sungai Lingkabau, Sungai Paitan, and Sungai Tangkarason.

history
Beluran was a district of Labuk-Sugut under the aegis of the North Borneo Chartered Company, one of the first districts of North Borneo.
The District Office for the Beluran District was set up as early as 1916, but it was destroyed along with all documents in the Second World War. The first administration building was stationed in Klagan, but was eventually moved to its current location because of the frequent flooding.
Structure of the district
The district is divided into three sub-districts ( daerah kecil , literally: small district): Beluran, Paitan and Telupid. These are in turn divided into several municipal administrations (mukim) :

- Mukim Sapi with the settlements of Kuala Sapi, Pandan-Pandan, Bantun, Sungai Sapi, Manduring, Bintang mas, Ulu Sapi, Toniting, Ulu Muanad Bt. 52-54, Lubuk Dungun 1, Lubuk Dungun 2, Lidong, Penimbanan, Sualok, Bambangan
