The La Primavera district is located in the Bolognesi province in the Ancash region in western Peru . The district was established on September 21, 1985. It has an area of 62.5 km². The 2017 census counted 478 inhabitants. In 1993 the population was 338, in 2007 it was 657. The district administration is located in the 2644 m high village of Gorgorrillo with 362 inhabitants (as of 2017). Gorgorrillo is located 20 km south of the provincial capital Chiquián .
Geographical location
The La Primavera district is located in the Peruvian Western Cordillera in the south of the Bolognesi province. The Río Pativilca flows south along the western district boundary .
The La Primavera district is bordered to the west by the districts Canis and Abelardo Pardo Lezameta , in the northwest on the district Chiquián , on the north by the district Huasta and to the east and the south by the district Mangas .
