CAS lawsuit

At the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow  , Dutee Chand was disqualified for having too high testosterone levels. In addition, the IAAF regulation would have applied to her, which states that athletes with hormone levels that do not correspond to the norm had to undergo therapy in order to stay below the established guide value of 10 nmol per liter. She took action against this regulation before the International Sports Court , CAS for short. In 2015, he ruled that the scheme must be suspended until scientific evidence is provided to confirm that hyperandrogenic female athletes have a significant performance advantage. In July 2017, the IAAF published a study that showed that women with high testosterone levels had advantages in the range of 1.8 to 4.5 percent in the 400 meters, 400 meter hurdles, 800 meters, hammer throw and pole vault disciplines. On January 19, 2018, the International Court of Justice for Sports (CAS) decided that the controversial rule on hyperandrogenism of the IAAF World Athletics Association would remain suspended for a further six months, and that the IAAF should announce how the association intends to implement its provision by then.
