Location and characteristics

Ebendorferstraße is located in the area of the former parade and parade ground in front of the walls of Vienna. The street was opened in 1874 as part of the planned development of the area around the new town hall. The decision on the naming was made as early as 1873.

Ebendorferstrasse runs from Felderstrasse in the south to Universitätsstrasse in the north. It is run as a one-way street and has a cycle lane against the direction of travel.

The construction consists entirely of buildings in the style of historicism , most of which were built in the decade from 1882 to 1892. Only the new institute building of the University of Vienna at the end of the street is an exception.
