Ed O'Ross

Ed O'Ross (actually Edward Orss ; born July 5, 1949 in Pensacola , Florida ) is an American actor .

Live and act

Edward Orss grew up in Pittsburgh , where he attended Munhall High School and then studied at Point Park College and the Carnegie Institute of Technology from 1964 . After some success as an amateur boxer, he went to New York City , where he studied acting with Stella Adler and Uta Hagen . In 1982 he made his film debut in Peter Lilienthal's Dear Mr. Wonderful alongside Joe Pesci .

As a result, Ed O'Ross mainly played character roles, often as a policeman, officer or gangster. He had three of his most impressive appearances in 1987 as the drug dealer Mendez in Lethal Weapon , as Lt. Touchdown in Full Metal Jacket and as Detective Willis in The Hidden . Other roles in action films followed, alongside Carl Weathers in Action Jackson (1988), with Arnold Schwarzenegger in Red Heat (1988), with Eddie Murphy and Nick Nolte in And Again 48 Hours (1990) and with Jean-Claude Van Damme and Dolph Lundgren in Universal Soldier (1992).

O'Ross has been working increasingly for television since the mid-1990s, for example in a supporting role as florist Nikolai in Six Feet Under - Always Dying and with guest appearances in Boston Legal , Chicago Hope - Endstation Hope , CSI: NY , Frasier , New York Cops - NYPD Blue , Seinfeld (and spin-off Lass es, Larry! ), And Walker, Texas Ranger .
