Eduard Gustav Heinrich Schubarth (born September 20, 1807 in Berlin , † November 20, 1889 in Görlitz ) was a Prussian major general .

Military career

Schubarth attended the city ​​school in Schmiedeberg and joined the 5th Pioneer Department of the Prussian Army as a pioneer on October 10, 1825 . Promoted to captain on March 27, 1848 , he came to the 3rd engineer inspection on May 30, 1848 and became commander of the 2nd company of the 4th engineer division. On May 30, 1849, Schubarth was first assigned to the Department of Engineering Affairs of the War Ministry and, on July 2, 1850, was transferred to the 1st Engineer Inspection, left in this command. There he became major without a patent on June 4, 1853 , which he received on November 14, 1854. On April 15, 1858, he moved from the square to the fortress Koblenz and Ehrenbreitstein as an engineer officer . There he became lieutenant colonel on May 31, 1859 and on October 3, 1859 with the Order of the Red Eagle III. Excellent class with swords on rings. Civil life

After his departure, Schubarth was a member of the Görlitz city ​​council until his death . For many years he chaired the art association for Upper Lusatia and the branch association of the Gustav Adolf Association . He was involved in the Natural Research Society in Görlitz and was its president from 1867 to 1869. He was also an honorary member of the Natural Science Society ISIS Dresden since 1868 . He died in Görlitz on November 20, 1889.
