Eliecith Palacios Santos (born September 15, 1987 in Carepa ) is a Colombian athlete who specializes in the 100-meter run . She also starts in the 4 x 100 meter relay and took part twice in the Summer Olympics for Colombia .

Athletic career

Elicith Palacios competed in her first international competitions at the 2004 South American Youth Championships in Guayaquil , where she won the bronze medal over 100 meter hurdles with the Colombian 4 x 100 meter relay and the sprint relay. A year later she finished sixth in the hurdles sprint at the Junior South American Championships in Rosario . In 2006 she took part in the South American Championships in Tunja , where she also took sixth place. In 2010 she took part in the Ibero-American Championships in San Fernando , where she narrowly missed a medal over the hurdles in fourth, but was able to win the silver medal with the sprint relay. At the Central America and Caribbean Games in Mayagüez , she won gold with the Colombian relay and silver in the hurdles sprint.

In 2011 she was South American champion in the 4 x 100 meter relay at the Championships in Buenos Aires . In addition, she finished sixth over the hurdles and fourth with the relay at the Central America and Caribbean Games. At the Pan American Games in Guadalajara , she was eliminated over 100 meters in the run-up. By the end of this year, she mainly focused on the flat sprint distances. In 2012 she was nominated by the Comité Olímpico Colombiano for the 2012 Olympic Games in London and was used as a relay runner. The following year, she won the silver medal in the hurdles sprint behind Venezuelan Génesis Romero in 13.49 s and with the relay in 44.97 s at the South American Championships in Lima . She also ran over 100 meters in 11.86 s in eighth place.
