Eric Verstappen (born May 19, 1994 in Venlo ) is a Dutch football goalkeeper who is under contract with the third division club Würzburger Kickers . He is also a multiple former junior national player of the Netherlands.
Career
society
Eric Verstappen was trained in the youth teams of VVV-Venlo and PSV Eindhoven . For the professional team of his hometown as well as BV De Graafschap he was never used, but only played for their second teams in the former reserve league Beloften Eredivisie .
In the summer of 2017, the German second division club Eintracht Braunschweig signed him. For the second team he was used three times in the Regionalliga Nord .
For the 2018/19 season , Verstappen came to TeBe Berlin in the Oberliga Nordost . He went with the team as the first goalkeeper in the season, but was ousted after four games by the younger Ertuğrul Aktaş and was then no longer on the field.
In the winter of 2019 he completed a trial training session with the German third division club Würzburger Kickers , where he impressed and received a contract until the end of the season. In the end of the season, the Dutchman moved into the squad for the injured Patrick Drewes and was preferred to Leon Bätge , whereupon he made his professional football debut on April 20, 2019 in the 2-0 away defeat at FSV Zwickau . In spring 2019, after the departure of competitor Patrick Drewes, the goalkeeper's contract was extended until June 2021, there is an option to extend it for another year.
