Niklas Hoffmann (born April 9, 1997 in Landau in the Palatinate ) is a German soccer player . The central defender is under contract with the Würzburger Kickers

Career

The Palatine Hoffmann began among others at TSV Fortuna Billigheim-Ingenheim at the southern wine route with football games. When he was ten years old, Karlsruher SC accepted him at a tournament in its junior performance center and trained him from then on.

The defender played with the youth teams of Karlsruhe in the A and B junior Bundesliga , and he led the U19s as captain in his last season. During this time he was already five times for the top division team and was once in the second division squad . In June 2016 he also received a three-year professional contract.

Due to a lack of prospects among the professionals, Hoffmann moved to SC Freiburg in the summer of 2017 , which from then on used him in his regional league team ; the season 2017/18 ended with Hoffmann Freiburg than in fourth.

In the winter break of the following season , the central defender was sold to FC St. Pauli , with whose second team he successfully played for relegation in the Regionalliga Nord . After the defender was able to make his debut for the professionals in the first round success in the DFB Cup over VfB Lübeck in June 2019 , head coach Jos Luhukay subsequently offered him sporadically in the 2nd Bundesliga due to internal failures.

After five second division and 15 regional division games for the North Germans, the defender moved to third division Würzburger Kickers at the end of January 2020 . There he received a contract valid until June 2021, which can be extended by an additional year by option.

Personal

In 2016, Hoffmann passed his high school diploma exams.
