Michael Schiele (born March 3, 1978 in Heidenheim an der Brenz ) is a former German soccer player and active soccer coach . Since October 2, 2017, he has been the head coach of the third division club Würzburger Kickers , with whom he was promoted to the 2nd Bundesliga in the 2019/20 season.

After Schiele had previously played at FC Dunstelkingen-Frickingen , TSV Nördlingen , VfR Aalen , 1. FC Schweinfurt 05 and SV Sandhausen , he rejoined VfR Aalen in 2003. In the 2008/09 season Schiele played for VfR in the 3rd division . In 2010 he ended his active career and was then chief scout of the VfR until he was appointed assistant coach of the professional team by the new coach Ralph Hasenhüttl in January 2011 . In summer 2015 he moved to SpVgg Greuther Fürth together with Ralph Hasenhüttl's successor Stefan Ruthenbeck . Schiele completed his training as a football teacher at the Hennes-Weisweiler Academy and received the UEFA Pro license on March 20, 2017 . Since June 2017 he has been a coaching assistant under Stephan Schmidt at the Würzburger Kickers , after his release on October 2, 2017, Schiele was appointed interim and finally on October 23 as head coach. With the Kickers he was promoted to the 2nd Bundesliga at the end of the 2019/20 season .
