Robert Klauß (born December 1, 1984 in Eberswalde ) is a former German soccer player and today's coach . He has been the head coach of 1. FC Nürnberg since the 2020/21 season .

Career as a player

As a player, Robert Klauß made it into the Northeast Football League and played there as a striker for various clubs . There he was able to record 15 goals in 48 games. He completed most of the games for SSV Markranstädt .

Career as a coach

Youth and assistant trainer in Leipzig

For the 2010/11 season, Klauss was assistant coach for the C2 juniors (U14) at RB Leipzig . From 2012 to 2014 he was the assistant coach of the C1 juniors (U15) before he took over the U14 as head coach for the 2014/15 season.

In February 2015, Klauß took over the B1-Juniors (U17), who played in the B-Junioren-Bundesliga , as the successor to Achim Beierlorzer , who had taken over the professional team. He led the U17s to win the North / Northeast relay in the 2014/15 season, but lost in the final round of the German championship with his team in the semifinals against Borussia Dortmund . In the 2015/16 season , the U17 took second place in the North / Northeast relay.

For the 2016/17 season , Klauß took over the second team that played in the fourth-class Regionalliga Nordost . He finished 3rd with the team before it was canceled from the game.

For the 2017/18 season , Klauß took over the A-Juniors (U19) who played in the A-Juniors Bundesliga . At the same time, he completed the 64th course to become a football teacher , which he completed in March 2018 as the best of his year. With the U19 he finished the season in 4th place in the north / north-east relay.

For the 2018/19 season , Klauß became Ralf Rangnick's assistant trainer for the professional team. For the 2019/20 season he extended his contract until June 30, 2021 and from then on assisted the new head coach Julian Nagelsmann .

For the 2020/21 season , Klauß took over the second division team of 1. FC Nürnberg as the successor to interim coach Michael Wiesinger , under whom FCN had previously prevented relegation to the third division .

In 2015 Robert Klauss was a candidate in the game show Schlag den Raab . There he had to admit defeat to Stefan Raab for 500,000 euros in a duel.
