Fabian Schleusener (born October 24, 1991 in Freiburg im Breisgau ) is a German football player . The striker is under contract with 1. FC Nürnberg .

Origin and studies

Fabian Schleusener comes from Gundelfingen im Breisgau . He started studying business administration at the Cooperative State University in Lörrach , which he is currently not pursuing due to his professional career.

Career

Schleusener went as a C-youth from his home club SV Wildtal to FC Denzlingen . In the 2009/10 season he was used for the first time in the adult area with the second team of the FCD in the Landesliga Südbaden Season 2 . In the following two seasons he ran for the first team in the Association League South Baden . In 2012 he moved from FC Denzlingen to Bahlinger SC , with whom he played in the Oberliga Baden-Württemberg . In July 2013 he went to the regional league team SV Waldhof Mannheim , but returned to Bahlingen in January 2014 after just one goal from ten missions . In the 2014/15 season Schleusener was the top scorer in the Oberliga Baden-Württemberg with 27 goals from 34 games and thus had a significant share in the second place of his club in the final table. The team was thus qualified for the promotion games that Schleusener successfully played with her and thus celebrated promotion to the Regionalliga Südwest . He left the club, however, and moved to the second team of SC Freiburg , which also played in the Regionalliga Südwest. On November 22, 2015 Schleusener was in the squad of the second division team of Breisgau for the first time and came on for Vincenzo Grifo in the 79th minute in the 4-1 home win against SC Paderborn 07 .

For the 2016/17 season Schleusener was awarded for one year to the third division club FSV Frankfurt . In his competitive debut on July 30, 2016, he scored the goal in the 84th minute of the away game against Holstein Kiel to make it 1-1. After eight league goals in the first half of the season, he tore a cruciate ligament in a test match during the winter break and was out for the rest of the season. At the end of the season he rose with the team in the Regionalliga Südwest . Schleusener was loaned to the relegated division from the 2nd Bundesliga, Karlsruher SC , to the 3rd division for the 2017/18 season. He played his first competitive game for Karlsruhe on July 21, 2017, the first matchday of the 2017/18 season, in a 2-2 draw against VfL Osnabrück , when he came on for Dominik Stroh-Engel in the 81st minute . Schleusener scored his first competitive goal in a 1-1 draw against Halleschen FC on August 26, 2017, the 6th matchday. With Karlsruhe he took third place in the final table and with 17 league goals played a major role in the fact that he and his team qualified for the relegation to promotion to the 2nd Bundesliga , in which they were defeated by FC Erzgebirge Aue despite a goal from Schleusener .

For the 2018/19 season Schleusener was awarded for one year by Freiburg to the second division club SV Sandhausen . There, too, he demonstrated his scoring skills and scored ten goals in 26 games despite the rather mediocre performance of his club. On March 31, 2019, he broke his shin in a collision with the goalkeeper of FC Ingolstadt 04 , Philipp Tschauner , and was out for the rest of the season.

In July 2019 Schleusener joined 1. FC Nürnberg , who had previously been relegated to the 2nd division, after participating in Freiburg's pre-season . The attacker signed a three-year contract with the Franks . Due to the after-effects of his injury in March, Schleusener could only become active for the club from November 2019. After Schleusener failed to hit a goal during the regular season, he scored in the last minute of stoppage time in the relegation second leg against FC Ingolstadt 04 and thus saved 1. FC Nürnberg from going into third division.
