Asger Strømgaard Sørensen (born June 5, 1996 in Silkeborg ; in German-speaking countries also Asger Sörensen ) is a Danish football player on the position of defender. He is under contract with 1. FC Nürnberg and is a young Danish national player.
Career
society
Sørensen came to Danish club FC Midtjylland via Virklund BK and Silkeborg IF , where he received his football training. On September 25, 2013, he played for the first time in the first team of FC Midtjylland in the cup match against FC Djurs . It remained his only use for the first team, as he was not used in the Super League . In January 2014 he moved to Austria to FC Red Bull Salzburg , for whose farm team FC Liefering he is deployed. He made his debut for FC Liefering on March 7, 2014 in the home game against SC Austria Lustenau . In his first half year, Sørensen came to ten missions.
After an ankle injury and a subsequent operation, he missed most of the 2014/15 season, only in the 30th round he could play again at FC Liefering. After a metacarpal fracture, which made him absent in preparation, he played for FC Liefering again for the first time in 2016/17. Sørensen made a total of 41 appearances and one goal for Lieferinger, while he made three appearances for FC Red Bull Salzburg.
In July 2017, the defender was awarded to second division club SSV Jahn Regensburg for two years in Germany , for whom he played 52 league games.
For the 2019/20 season he did not return to Salzburg and moved within the 2nd Bundesliga to the relegated 1. FC Nürnberg , where he received a contract valid until June 2022.
National team
Sørensen came to five appearances for the Danish U16 national team and ten appearances for the U17 . He later played three games for the U18s and one for the U20s.
On August 31, 2017 , he made his debut for the Danish U21 national team in the 3-0 victory in the European Championship qualifier in Tórshavn against the Faroe Islands .
