Erik Kirchschläger (born February 4, 1996 in Linz ) is an Austrian ice hockey player who is under contract with the EC Graz 99ers in the Austrian ice hockey league.

Career

Kirchschläger went through the various youth teams of the EHC Linz and played in the playoffs of the 2012/13 season for the first time for the first men's team in the Austrian ice hockey league. In 2014 he won the Austrian U18 championship with the Upper Austrians, which was played among the Austrian teams of the Erste Bank Juniors League . A year later, the Austrian U20 championship followed, which was played among the Austrian teams of the Erste Bank Young Stars League . In the 2015/16 season he played for the first time more often in the ÖEHL team than in the youth division, but was also used in the Inter-National League at EK Zell am See . Since 2016 he has played for Linz exclusively in the ÖEHL.

International

In the junior division, Kirchschläger was initially on the ice for Austria at the 2012 Winter Youth Olympic Games in Innsbruck . He then played at the U18 World Championships in 2013 and 2014 and the U20 World Championships in 2015 and 2016 in Division I.

He made his debut in the men's national team on April 8, 2015 in the 2: 4 defeat against Hungary in Vienna . His first tournament appearance was at the 2017 World Cup in Division I.
