Ettischleben is a district of the city of Arnstadt in the Ilm district ( Thuringia ) with 157 inhabitants on an area of ​​3.49 km².

geography

Ettischleben is located in the Wipfra Valley in the Thuringian Basin, about six kilometers east of Arnstadt . The village is 300 meters above sea level in a poorly forested area between Alkersleben in the north, Bösleben in the east, Marlishausen in the south and Dornheim in the west.

history

Ettischleben was first mentioned in a document between 750 and 779. The village has always been under the influence of the nearby town of Arnstadt and was therefore part of Schwarzburg-Sondershausen ( suzerainty ) until 1920 .

On July 1, 1950, Ettischleben was incorporated into the municipality of Alkersleben . On May 20, 1963, it was reclassified to the community of Marlishausen and together with it, on March 25, 1994, it became part of the newly established Wipfratal community , which was incorporated into Arnstadt on January 1, 2019.

Buildings

The Protestant village church of St. Cyriakus is part of the Elxleben parish . The hall church is of Romanesque origin and was redesigned in the 16th century, giving it its present shape.

The Lebenshof , a rehabilitation house for people after psychological treatment, is also located in the village .

Economy and Infrastructure

Ettischleben is an agricultural place. Many residents commute to work in Arnstadt.

Roads connect Ettischleben with Alkersleben, Dornheim and Marlishausen, where the next train station is located on the Arnstadt – Saalfeld railway line .
