The Ettringer Bellerberg , also called Ettringer Bellberg , is 427.5 m above sea level. NHN high, western flank of the Bellerberg volcano , a volcanic system that was active about 200,000 years ago. It is located in the area of the local community Ettringen in the Rhineland-Palatinate district of Mayen-Koblenz . The mountain is a landscape monument in the volcano park .

location
The Ettringer Bellerberg rises in the southern part of the Ettringen municipality. Its summit is 800 m southeast of the center of Ettringen, 2 km west of Kottenheim and 2.3 km north-northeast of Mayen in the Eastern Eifel . A little to the southwest past the mountain flows the Nette and north - beyond Ettringen - the Segbach as a small tributary of the Krufter Bach (Thürer Bach) . The south-south-east neighboring elevation is the Mayener Bellerberg ( 363.2 m ).
Natural allocation
The Ettringer Bellerberg belongs to the natural spatial main unit group Middle Rhine Region (No. 29), in the main unit Lower Middle Rhine Region (292) and in the subunit Laacher Vulkane (292.0) to the natural area Ettringer Volcanic Dome (292.01). To the east, its landscape leads into the Pellenzsenke (291.221) part of the Pellenzer Senken- und Hügelland (291.22) natural area , and to the south it descends into the Mayener Kessel natural area (291.25), which is part of the main unit of the Middle Rhine Basin (291) of the subunit Maifeld-Pellenzer Hügelland (291.2). In the west, the main unit group Eastern Eifel (No. 27), the main unit Eastern High Eifel ( 271) and the subunit Hohe-Acht / Nitz-Nette-Bergland (271.2) are joined by the natural area Nitz-Nette-Wald (271.21).

The Ettringer Bellerberg is 427.5 m high. In topographic maps summit nearby is a 426.8 m recorded high point. Usually the mountain height is given as around 428 m or 427 m .
Protected areas
On the Ettringer Bellerberg are the nature reserve Ettringer and Mayener Bellberg, Kottenheimer Büden ( CDDA no. 81634; designated 1978; 63.87 hectares ) and parts of the bird sanctuary Lower Middle Rhine Region (VSG no. 5609-401; 20.66 km² ) .

The dream path Vulkanpfad leads over the Ettringer Bellerberg, which runs for almost 7 km over the Kottenheimer Büden and through the nearby Kottenheimer Winfeld . From its summit, the opposite eastern flank of the Bellerberg volcano, the Kottenheimer Büden, the Pellenz and the valleys of the Rhine and Moselle can be seen.
