Etzen is a village and a cadastral municipality of the municipality of Groß Gerungs in the Zwettl district in Lower Austria .

Settlement development

At the turn of the year 1979/1980 there were a total of 36 building areas with 15,420 m² and 20 gardens on 23,005 m² in the cadastral community Etzen , in 1989/1990 there were 37 building areas. In 1999/2000 the number of building areas had grown to 129 and in 2009/2010 there were 70 buildings on 150 building areas.

Land use

The cadastral community is characterized by agriculture. 180 hectares were used for agriculture at the turn of 1979/1980 and 101 hectares were forest areas. In 1999/2000 agriculture was carried out on 162 hectares and 115 hectares were designated as areas used for forestry. At the end of 2018, 150 hectares were used as agricultural land and forestry was carried out on 117 hectares. The average soil climate number of Etzen is 19.1 (as of 2010).
