Eugene Lammot

Eugene Lammot (born May 22, 1899 in Germantown , Pennsylvania , † March 2, 1987 in Wilmington , Delaware ) was an American politician . Between 1961 and 1965 he was lieutenant governor of the state of Delaware.

Career

Nothing is known about Eugene Lammot's youth and schooling. He later worked in the insurance industry. Politically, he became a member of the Democratic Party . Between 1955 and 1957 he was a member of the Delaware Senate . He was then Mayor of Wilmington from 1957 to 1960 . In July 1960 he took part as a delegate at the Democratic National Convention in Los Angeles , at which John F. Kennedy was nominated as a presidential candidate.

In the same year Lammot was elected lieutenant governor of Delaware at the side of Elbert N. Carvel . He held this office between 1961 and 1965. He was Deputy Governor and Chairman of the State Senate. He died in March 1987.
