European Film Award / Best Production Design

Winners and nominees of the European Film Awards in the category Best Art Direction (European Production Designer) since it was first awarded in 1988. At first were together with costume designers in a category Designer Best Art Direction ( Best Art Direction Award). No prize was awarded between 1993 and 2004, while from 2006 to 2009 production designers had the opportunity to be considered in the Best Artistic Contribution ( Prix ​​D'Exellence ) category together with other technicians such as make-up and costume designers or editing and sound engineers. In 2010 the category was re-awarded with the deletion of the Prix D'Exellence and the award was given to the German Albrecht Konrad . Since 2013, the award has been given by a jury of experts as the "Excellence Award" without announcing any nominations.
