Evciler is a small town ( Belediye ) and a district in the Turkish province of Afyonkarahisar . The city is located about 130-140 kilometers southwest of the provincial capital Afyonkarahisar .
The district is the smallest in the province and is located in the southwest of the province . It borders Dinar to the east, Başmakçı and Dazkırı to the south, and Denizli Province to the northwest . The D-320 trunk road crosses the district to Dinar from the west coast via Aydın .
The landscape is dry and is mainly used for growing wheat and other types of grain. In addition, poppies , sunflowers and sugar beets are grown and livestock are farmed. The only factory in Evciler with about 50 employees (as of 2015) is the company "Baltaş" ; a dairy founded in the mid 1990s that produces various dairy products.
In addition to the district town (with around 47 percent of the district population) there are seven villages ( Köy ) in the district, Gökçek is the largest with 1,708 inhabitants and the only one with over a thousand inhabitants. 569 people live in each village, making the rural proportion of the population more than half (53%).
