Turhan's younger brother Serkan Turhan also became a professional football player.

Career

society

Turhan started club football in the youth of the Turkish capital club Ankara Şekerspor . Here he was discovered for the Turkish national youth teams and played in the youth division until summer 1992.

After Şekerspor missed relegation in the 2nd league at the end of the 1991/92 season , Turhan moved to the then second division Balıkesirspor with a professional contract . At this club he quickly won a regular place and in his two years advanced to one of the most sought-after youngsters in the league for this club.

For the 1994/95 season he moved to the first division club Kocaelispor . Here he made the jump into the starting XI right away. In its second season, several clubs were interested in Turhan, while the Istanbul club Galatasaray made their first recruitment attempt at the beginning of the season. After this recruitment attempt failed, another successful one was undertaken during the 1995 winter transfer period. Turhan moved to Galatasaray in December 1995, while Kocaelispor received in return Saffet Sancaklı , which Kocaelispor had signed a year ago, and a transfer fee of 30,000,000 Turkish Lira . Moved to the red and yellow, Turhan made it immediately into the starting eleven. While his team ended the season rather disappointing, Turhan was one of the best players on his team. At the end of the season they became the Turkish Cup winner .

For the new season, the expiring contract with the coach Graeme Souness was not extended and instead Fatih Terim was introduced as coach. Under this coach Turhan lost his regular place, but still came to regular appearances. Turhan announced at the beginning of the season that he wanted to leave Galatasaray. After working at Galatasaray until the winter break, he switched to goalkeeper Volkan Kilimci at his old club Kocaelispor in return . Although Terim made regular use of Turhan, the team had an urgent need for a goalkeeper. Since the club was in financial straits at the time, Turhan was used instead of a full transfer fee for Kilimci.

When he switched to Kocaelispor, he immediately made it into the starting line-up, also won the Turkish Cup with Kocaelispor and made it into the Turkish national team .

After Evren worked for Kocaelispor for two and a half years, he moved to the second division side Siirt Jet-Pa Spor in the summer of 1999 . At this club, the patron Fadıl Akgündüz had bought and tried by recruiting various stars such as Sergen Yalçın , Ersen Martin , Timuçin Bayazıt , Ceyhun Eriş , Okan Öztürk and Oktay Derelioğlu to lead the club in the 1st Lig . After just one season, this goal was achieved by the runner-up and rose to the first league for the first time in the club's history.

At the end of the season Turhan left Siirt Jet-Pa Spor again and switched to the first division side Adanaspor . Over the next few years he played for various clubs in the Süper Lig .

After he worked for the second division Kayseri Erciyesspor in the 2008/09 season , he ended his career.

In the 2011/12 season he played one season for the amateur club Büyükdere SK and then ended his career again.

National team

Turhan went through several youth national teams in Turkey.

In June 1996 Turhan was nominated for the first time in his career in the squad of the Turkish national team as part of a Crimean Cup game against the Croatian national team by the then national coach Mustafa Denizli . During this game he made his international debut. During this tournament he completed his second and last international match.

In 2003 he was nominated in the squad of the second selection of the Turkish national team, but did not play in this nomination.
