Ewelina Ptak (born Klocek ; born March 20, 1987 in Trzebnica ) is a Polish sprinter who specializes in the 200-meter run and is particularly successful in the sprint relays.

Athletic career

In 2005 Ewelina Kocek took part in the Junior European Championships in Kaunas and took eighth place in the final over 200 meters. At the Junior World Championships in Beijing the following year , she won the bronze medal in the 200 meters and achieved fifth place with the Polish 4 x 100 meter relay. In 2007, she narrowly missed a medal at the U23 European Championships as fourth in her specialty and won the bronze medal with the relay. She also qualified for the World Championships in Osaka . There she came in the individual discipline to the quarter-finals and finished eighth in the final with the relay. In 2008 Kocek was part of the Polish relay for the Olympic Games in Beijing , in which they were disqualified in the final for a track violation.

In 2009 she appeared again at the U23 European Championships in Kaunas and won two silver medals there. She also won the silver medal with the relay at the Summer Universiade 2009 in Belgrade . In 2010 Ptak took part in the European Championships in Barcelona and made it to the semi-finals over 200 meters. In 2012 she won the bronze medal with the relay at the European Championships in Helsinki and was eliminated in the preliminary round at the Olympic Games . In 2013, she won the bronze medal with the Polish student relay at the Universiade in Kazan and was eliminated in the semi-finals over 200 meters. At the World Championships in Moscow, she retired with the Polish team in the run-up to the 4 x 100 meter relay .

From 2014, Ptak concentrated more on the longer sprint distance, the 400 meters. At the World Indoor Championships in Sopot , she was part of the Polish relay for the first time, which came in fourth. In 2016 Ewelina Ptak finished fourth in the Polish 4 x 400 meter relay at the European Championships in Amsterdam .
