Eternal German leaderboard in the women's marathon
The Eternal German best list in the women's marathon is a ranking of the German Athletics Association and lists the 30 fastest German marathon runners who have so far participated in a marathon it has recognized .
Irina Mikitenko has been at the top of the list since September 25, 2008 , when she was the first German female runner ever to break the 2:20 hour mark at the finish of the Berlin Marathon with 2:19:19 hours. After more than 14 years, she replaced Uta Pippig , who had finished the 42.195 km long marathon on April 18, 1994 at the Boston Marathon in 2:21:45 h.
