In the city of Sangju, Expresswys 30 ends and crosses Expressway 45 . Expressway 301 will begin at this junction and will continue in a south-easterly direction. The road crosses the Nakdong , the main river in the south of the country, and then crosses a mountainous area. In Gunwi , the Expressway 55 is crossed, the most important easternmost north-south motorway in this area. Then Expressway 20 is crossed, after which the highway runs along the city of Yeongcheon until it ends at Expressway 1 .

history

The first plans for the Expressway 301 were drawn up in 1997, at that time under a different numbering. On January 3, 2008 the motorway was assigned the current number 301. Construction was supposed to start in 2010, but it did not begin until June 28, 2012. The motorway is to be fully opened in 2017.
