The Army Technical College for Education and Business ( FSHErz / Wi ) was a technical college of the Bundeswehr in Darmstadt . In addition to the technical training of candidate officers in the military technical service , NCOs with portepee of the army were also trained as part of advanced training level B.

The school staff and the army technical school for education were located in the Frankenstein barracks (since 2006 Major Karl Plagge barracks ) in Darmstadt-Eberstadt , the army technical school for economics mainly in the Starkenburg barracks, where the specialist media center is also located the school with library, drawing office, printing shop, photo laboratory and classroom monitoring system as well as training rooms for art and craft education. In peacetime the school was subordinate to the 857 field training battalion , a so-called equipment unit . The Army Technical College for Education and Business was decommissioned in 2000. In addition to the first to fourth  inspections , there was another inspection until 1992, during which the courses “Basics of Electrical Engineering ” and “ People Management and Methodology ” were carried out at times .

From 1979 to 1981, later served Chief of Medical Service (2006-2011), generaloberstabsarzt Kurt-Bernhard Nakath as medical officer of the school.

Army Technical School for Education (FSHErz)

The Army Technical School for Education trained state-approved educators .

On October 1, 1975, the school was affiliated to Combat Troop School II / III , which was then renamed Combat Troop School 2 and Army Technical School for Education (see under Training Center for Armored Troops ). During this time, numerous OffzMilFD were trained, who were deployed in top positions in the Bundeswehr (HS 45/46). On April 1, 1981, the school was relocated to the Frankenstein barracks in Darmstadt, while the combat force school in Munster was renamed combat force school 2 . The Army Technical School for Education in Darmstadt was divided into the 1st and 2nd  inspection .

With the dissolution of the Army Technical College for Education in 2000, the possibility of training as state-recognized educators also ended for officer candidates in the military- technical service. As part of the professional development , however, the Bundeswehr technical schools in Berlin, Hamburg and Cologne offer educational courses for soldiers on time .

Army College for Economics (FSHWi)

The Army technical college for economics trained to become a state-certified business economist . The full-time course lasted two years. The curricular curriculum was exclusively from the Hessian Ministry of Education approved and monitored. The final exams were led by a representative of the Ministry of Culture. The school principal and teaching staff were proposed by the Ministry of Defense . Their teaching qualifications were checked by the Hessian Ministry of Culture and the teaching permit was granted. This also applied to the chief inspectors if they were employed in teaching. The school principal was responsible for upholding the curriculum. The military hierarchy had no influence on this. The chiefs of inspections were responsible for military order and procedures. In this respect, the hierarchical structure shown next does not correspond to the real subordinate relationships. After completing the basic course, the students could choose the main subjects logistics , human resources management or business informatics . In addition, the Abitur or the technical college entrance qualification was offered with additional training . The most important teaching methods included internships and computer-aided business simulation games in which the various individual business subjects were brought together across the board. Their duration was one week. The aim was to lead the students towards a holistic approach.

The school was established in 1975 and affiliated as the third teaching group to the School for Military Police and Staff Service (SFJg / StDstBw) , which was therefore called the School for Military Police and Staff Service / Technical Academy for Economics of the Army (SFJg / StDst / FakWiH) from 1976 . With the relocation of business training to the Darmstadt site in 1982, the school for military police and staff was given its original name again. The Army Technical College for Economics at the Darmstadt location was divided into III. and IV. inspection. The fourth inspection had the accommodation in the Frankenstein barracks, the classrooms and the school management were completely in the Starkenburg barracks. The Army Technical College for Economics had three networked, fully equipped PC classrooms.

September 1, 1999, were College of the Air Force of Economics , the College of the Air Force of Mechanical Engineering , the College of the Air Force for data processing and the technical school of the army of Economy to College of the Air Force (FSLw) summarized, in turn, part of the Technical School of the Air Force 3 was in Fassberg . The last course at the Army Technical College for Economics in Darmstadt ended in III. Quarter 2000.
