Kurt-Bernhard Nakath

Kurt-Bernhard Nakath (born September 9, 1949 in Chemnitz ) is a German medical officer and senior medical officer a. D. From September 21st, 2006 to September 27th, 2011 he was inspector of the medical service and in this function the highest officer in charge of this military organization area .

Life

After graduating from high school , Nakath joined the Bundeswehr as a temporary soldier and reserve officer candidate in 1969 . After 26 months of service, he left the Bundeswehr as Lieutenant d. R. the NBC defense .

He then studied biology in Mainz and medicine in Frankfurt am Main until 1978 . During his studies he rejoined the German Armed Forces and, after his license to practice medicine, went through several stations as a medical officer, troop doctor at the Army College for Education and Business and company commander.

The meanwhile Dr. med. doctorate senior staff physician became adjutant to the inspector of the sanitary and health services in 1982 . Until 1997, Nakath worked as a consultant, head of department and head of department in various personnel management departments in the Federal Ministry of Defense and was promoted to senior physician during this time .

In 1997 Nakath was appointed general physician .

In 2000 Nakath became head of Division III in the Army Support Command . In the following year he took up his post as chief of the medical department of the Bundeswehr as a general staff doctor . In 2003 he became the deputy inspector of the medical service of the German armed forces and the chief of the management staff of the medical service.

On September 21, 2006 he was appointed Chief Medical Officer and Inspector of the Medical Service of the Bundeswehr. On September 27, 2011, he handed over this position to Ingo Patschke and retired with a tattoo in the presence of the Federal Minister of Defense Thomas de Maizière .

Awards

Nakath is the bearer of the Commander's Cross of the Ordre national du Lion ( Senegal ) and was awarded the Great Gold Medal for Services to the Republic of Austria .
