Farm Loop is a census-designated place (CDP) in Matanuska-Susitna Borough in Alaska in the United States . The area is in the center of the Matanuska - Susitna valley north of the town of Palmer and is accessible via the Glenn Highway , Farm Loop Road and Willow-Fishhook Road.

history

The whole Matanuska-Susitna valley was laid out as a planned agricultural colony. 203 families, mostly from Michigan , Wisconsin, and Minnesota , moved to the area in 1935. Many of their descendants still live there. Low housing costs, the rural lifestyle and the proximity to the city of Anchorage favored population growth.
