Emil Ferdinand Leopold von Rohr (born October 14, 1805 in Heiligenstadt , † April 8, 1873 in Danzig ) was a Prussian lieutenant general .

Life

Ferdinand was the son of the Vice Chamber Director at the War and Domain Chamber Hans Ludwig Leopold von Rohr (1772-1850) and his wife Amalie Henriette, née Hatz (1776-1810).

Military career

Rohr visited the cadet house in Berlin and was then transferred in mid-April 1823 as a second lieutenant to the 12th Hussar Regiment of the Prussian Army . For further training he completed the General War School in 1826/29 , advanced to Prime Lieutenant in mid-June 1841 and was in command as adjutant in the 6th Division in Torgau from late March 1844 to early September 1845 . On September 11, 1845, when he was promoted to Rittmeister, he was appointed squadron chief . As a major, Rohr was promoted to regular staff officer on May 10, 1853, and was appointed commander of the 5th Uhlan Regiment in Düsseldorf on January 8, 1857 . In this position took place on 9 April 1857 was promoted to lieutenant colonel and on 31 May 1859 , Colonel .

His regiment chief Duke Adolph von Nassau awarded Rohr the commander of the military and civil service order with swords on February 11, 1860, and King Friedrich Wilhelm IV honored him on May 25, 1860 with the Order of the Red Eagle III.
