François Tracanelli

François Tracanelli (born February 4, 1951 in Udine , Italy ) is a former French pole vaulter .

At the European Athletics Championships in Athens in 1969 , he was eliminated without a valid attempt.

In 1970 he won the European Indoor Athletics Championships in Vienna and won bronze at the Universiade , and in 1971 he failed again at the European Championships in Helsinki with a Salto Nullo.

Eighth place at the 1972 Olympic Games in Munich was followed by a victory at the 1973 Universiade and eleventh place at the 1974 European Championship in Rome.

In 1975 he was seventh at the European Indoor Championships in Katowice and defended his title at the Universiade, in 1976 he was sixth at the European Indoor Championships in Munich and qualified for the final at the Olympic Games in Montreal , in which, however, no valid attempt was made succeeded.

In 1978 he finished seventh at the European Indoor Championships in Milan and at the European Championships in Prague .

In 1969, 1972 and 1976 he was French outdoor champion, 1978 indoor. He set his personal best of 5.55 m on August 23, 1981 in Nice .

François Tracanelli started for the ES Viry-Châtillon.
