Renato Dionisi (athlete)

Renato Dionisi (born November 21, 1947 in Riva del Garda ) is a former Italian pole vaulter .

At the Olympic Games in Tokyo in 1964, he was eliminated from qualification.

In 1966 he was fourth at the European Athletics Championships in Budapest , and in 1967 he won silver at the Mediterranean Games . At the European Indoor Games he was fourth in Madrid in 1968 and fifth in Belgrade in 1969 .

At the European Championships in Helsinki in 1971 he won bronze, but the following year he was eliminated from the preliminary round of the Olympic Games in Munich without a valid attempt.

A victory at the European Indoor Athletics Championships in 1973 in Rotterdam was followed by eighth place at the 1974 European Indoor Championships in Gothenburg.

In 1975 he won bronze at the Mediterranean Games and the Universiade . He also won bronze at the European Indoor Championships in 1976 in Munich.

He was Italian outdoor champion ten times (1964–1971, 1977, 1978) and twice indoors (1971, 1973).
