Francis Perron (born April 18, 1996 in Laval , Québec ) is a Canadian ice hockey player who has been under contract with the Vancouver Canucks of the National Hockey League since June 2019 and for their farm team , the Utica Comets , in the American Hockey League on the Position of the left winger plays.
Career
Perron played for lower-class junior teams in his home province of Québec until the summer of 2012 , before joining the Huskies de Rouyn-Noranda from the Ligue de hockey junior majeur du Québec , who had previously selected him in the league's entry draft , for the 2012/13 season . In the following four seasons, the winger increased continuously. On the 18 scorer points in his rookie year , he let 55 follow in the season. Finally, he was selected in the seventh round in the 2014 NHL Entry Draft in 190th place by the Ottawa Senators from the National Hockey League . Perron then remained in the junior division and rose to 78 points in his third year. In his fourth and final year in Rouyn-Noranda, he led the Huskies as team captain and, together with Timo Meier and AJ Greer, won the Coupe du Président for the first time . There were also numerous other awards for the attacker. He was honored with the Trophée Michel Brière as the most valuable player of the regular season after he had completed it with 108 points in second place in the league's scorer ranking. He was also the top scorer of the playoffs and received the award as MVP in the form of the Trophée Guy Lafleur . He was also appointed to the League's First All-Star Team. In the subsequent Memorial Cup he was awarded the George Parsons Trophy for the fairest player in sport.

With the successes in his luggage, the French-Canadian moved to the Canadian capital Ottawa in the summer of 2016 , after the Senators had given him a three-year NHL entry contract in March of the same year . However, he did not make the jump to the NHL squad and spent his first professional season in the American Hockey League . There Perron came to work for Ottawa's farm team , the Binghamton Senators , but found it difficult to gain a foothold. At the end of the season, there were only 26 points in 68 matches. The offensive player spent the 2017/18 season with Ottawa's new cooperation partner, the Belleville Senators . Due to an injury sustained in January 2018, he played only 44 games this season before he was given to the San Jose Sharks in a so-called "blockbuster" transfer together with Erik Karlsson in September 2018 . In return, Senators Chris Tierney , Dylan DeMelo , Rūdolfs Balcers , young player Josh Norris received a conditional first-round vote for the 2020 NHL Entry Draft and a second-round vote for the 2019 NHL Entry Draft . The right to vote for the first round will become one for the 2019 draft if the Sharks miss the playoffs in the 2018/19 season. In addition, Ottawa will receive an additional second-round vote for the NHL Entry Draft 2021 if Karlsson extends his contract in San Jose, which expires in the 2019/20 season. Furthermore, this right to vote should even become one for the first round, provided the Sharks reach the Stanley Cup final in 2019. As an additional clause it was noted that the Senators would receive another first-round vote if Karlsson should be transferred back to the Eastern Conference . This is to prevent a second "Causa Mike Hoffman ", who a few months earlier was transferred from Ottawa to San Jose and then directly to the Florida Panthers . At the beginning of the 2018/19 season, Perron was part of the roster of the San Jose Barracuda , the Sharks farm team in the AHL, and was invited to the AHL All-Star Classic for the first time in his career during the season . After a season with the Sharks, the Canadian was handed over to the Vancouver Canucks in exchange for Tom Pyatt during the 2019 NHL Entry Draft . In addition, Vancouver received a seven-round and San Jose a six-round vote in this draft.
International
Perron took part in the World U-17 Hockey Challenge 2013 for his home country . He ran for the national team of the province of Québec , with which he finished fourth. In six missions, the striker scored one goal and prepared two more.
