Frank Lewis (Lieutenant Governor)

Frank Lewis , OPEI (* 1939 in York , Prince Edward Island ) is a Canadian broadcast manager. From 2011 to 2017 he was the lieutenant governor of Prince Edward Island Province and as such represented the head of state, Queen Elizabeth II , at the provincial level.

biography

Lewis began working for the country music radio station CFCY-FM in Charlottetown in 1966 . He rose to become the radio station's vice-president and manager and retired in 2004. After his retirement he worked as a consultant for the media company Newcap Radio in Halifax . On July 28, 2011, Prime Minister Stephen Harper announced that Governor General David Johnston had appointed Lewis as the new Lieutenant Governor of Prince Edward Island. David Jenkins, chairman of the Provincial Supreme Court, took the oath on August 15, 2011 at Province House . As Lieutenant Governor, Lewis was ex officio Chancellor of the Order of Prince Edward Island .
