Joseph Aubin Doiron
Joseph Aubin Doiron , CM (born June 10, 1922 in North Rustico , Prince Edward Island , † January 28, 1995 ) was a Canadian dentist . From 1980 to 1985 he was Lieutenant Governor of Prince Edward Island.
The Acadier Doiron received his high school education in Nova Scotia and then studied dentistry at the Université de Montréal . In 1951 he opened a practice in Summerside , which he ran for nearly three decades. In addition to his professional activity, he was involved in numerous cultural and charitable organizations. In particular, he appeared as a promoter of the French-speaking academic culture. He was also a member of the Summerside School Board and the local Chamber of Commerce. He was also President of his home province's Dental Association and a board member of the Canadian Dental Association. Governor General Edward Schreyer swore in Doiron on January 14, 1980 as Lieutenant Governor of Prince Edward Island. He held this representative office until August 1, 1985.
