Frederick Walter Hyndman

Frederick Walter Hyndman (born February 13, 1904 in Charlottetown , Prince Edward Island , † October 12, 1995 ) was a Canadian manager . From 1958 to 1963 he was Lieutenant Governor of Prince Edward Island.

Hyndman studied at Prince of Wales College in Charlottetown. He later headed the insurance company Hyndman & Company Ltd. At the outbreak of World War II , he was Major and Deputy Commander of the Prince Edward Island Light Horse Brigade , from 1942 to 1945 a staff officer at the Canadian Army Headquarters. As a member of the Prince Edward Island Progressive Conservative Party , he ran in the 1955 elections to the Legislative Assembly , but was not elected. Governor General Vincent Massey swore in Hyndman on March 31, 1958 as Lieutenant Governor of Prince Edward Island. He held this representative office until August 1, 1963.
