Fred Praski
Fred Praski (born April 4, 1915 in Greifswald ; † December 25, 1993 in Berlin ) was a German actor , singer and director .
Life
Fred Praski experienced his childhood and youth in his native Greifswald. Here he got his first engagement as a singer at the Greifswald Theater from 1936 to 1938 . During the Second World War he was taken prisoner by the Soviets and worked there in the Antifa-Aktiv .
Back in Germany, Fred Praski got a job at the Leipzig Operetta Theater as a singer and director. In the mid-1950s he became director of the GDR State Folk Art Ensemble. From 1968 to 1971 he was director of the Central Studio for Entertainment Arts . He became well known for his staging of major events, sometimes with several hundred participants. In several television plays he acted as an actor.
Fred Praski was married to the ballet dancer , choreographer and ballet director Lilo Gruber .
