This article is about the Italian women's national soccer team at the 2009 European Championship in Finland .

qualification

Italy was for the qualification are in Group 2 and met with Ireland , Romania , Sweden and Hungary . With six wins and two defeats, the Italians finished second behind Sweden.

Italy prevailed against the Czech Republic in the play-offs , while Ireland lost to Iceland .
