Football in Croatia 1995/96

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The 1995/96 season in Croatian football was the fifth since the breakup from the Yugoslav Football Association and the re-establishment of the Croatian Football Association .

For the first time, the first Croatian league (Croatian Prva Hrvatska Nogometna Liga , short 1. HNL ) was divided into two seasons A and B, although these were not equal because the best-placed clubs of the previous season competed in season A and the rest in season B. The second league (Croatian Druga Hrvatska Nogometna Liga , short 2. HNL ) started in three seasons with 16 or 18 teams each.
