Göllingen (Bissingen)

Göllingen is a district of the market Bissingen in the Swabian district of Dillingen on the Danube . The village was incorporated into the market Bissingen on July 1, 1971. It is located one and a half kilometers northwest of Bissingen on the right bank of the Kessel . The highest altitude is 433 m.

The Göllingen corridor is part of the Upper Kesseltal nature reserve .

history

The place is first handed down in 1268 as "Goldelingen". Göllingen presumably originated in the late 7th century from the extension of Bissingen. The place belonged to the Hohenburg-Bissingen rule since the late Middle Ages , a family of servants, the lords of Göllingen, is attested between 1268 and 1319/23. This sat on the former moated castle on the southeastern edge of the village, today only small remains of the castle stables are left. The Lords of Thurneck and Burgmagerbein also had property in Göllingen.

The coat of arms description for the coat of arms of the former independent municipality of Göllingen reads: Under a shield head made of red and gold in two rows, in gold made of blue wave flow, in it two silver wavy strips, growing a castle-like red building with a blue roof.
